Isolated from Tidal Wave; champion strain at 2021 Hyphae Cup with 3.82% tryptamines

Overview

Tidal Wave v2 is a selected isolation from the Tidal Wave strain (Penis Envy × B+) that achieved notoriety for setting the world record for psilocybin content at the 2021 Oakland Hyphae Cup: 3.82% total tryptamines by dry weight, the highest recorded potency from any cubensis specimen at that time. While the 3.82% result represents an extraordinary outlier from a specific fruit under specific conditions, subsequent testing of Tidal Wave v2 genetics consistently shows above-average potency compared to standard cubensis strains.

Effects & Experience

Extremely potent — the strongest consumer cubensis strain with documented testing data. The effects are intense, visually overwhelming, and physically heavy at doses that would be moderate with other strains. Approach with significant caution, particularly if switching from a standard-potency strain.

Potency Profile

Extremely high — world record 3.82% tryptamines from a single specimen. Average potency from this genetics: 1.2-2.0% under typical conditions. Treat as 2-3x standard cubensis potency for dosing.

Dosage Note: Reduce dose to 40-50% of your standard cubensis dose. Start at 0.75-1g if you have not grown or tested a specific batch.

Tidal Wave v2 can produce a percentage of 'blob' mutations — irregular, shapeless fruiting bodies that are still potent but not typical cap-stem morphology. The strange morphology is characteristic of PE-derived high-potency strains. Cultivation is moderately demanding: colonization is slower than standard strains, temperature sensitivity is higher, and contamination risk during the longer colonization period is elevated. Reward is commensurate with care.

Recommended methods: Grain Spawn, Monotub Tek, Agar Work
