About LearnShrooms
We're building the most trusted psilocybin education platform in the United States.
Our Mission
LearnShrooms exists because psilocybin education in the United States is fragmented, outdated, and often unreliable. As more states legalize therapeutic access — Oregon, Colorado, and counting — millions of Americans need accurate, evidence-based information about psilocybin's legal status, therapeutic applications, cultivation methods, and harm reduction practices.
We're building the resource we wish had existed when we started: a single, trustworthy platform that covers psilocybin law, therapy, strains, and cultivation — written for real people, reviewed against current research, and updated as the legal landscape evolves.
What We Cover
- Legal Information: State-by-state psilocybin law tracker covering all 50 states, updated as legislation changes. We distinguish between decriminalization, legalization for therapeutic use, and full legalization — because these distinctions matter.
- Therapy Guides: Evidence-based guides on what to expect from psilocybin-assisted therapy, how to find licensed facilitators, dosage considerations, drug interaction warnings, and integration practices. All therapy content references peer-reviewed research.
- Strain Library: Detailed profiles of Psilocybe cubensis strains with potency data, cultivation difficulty, and effects descriptions. Our strain information comes from published mycological research and community cultivation data.
- Cultivation Guides: Step-by-step grow guides (PF Tek, monotub, agar work) written by experienced cultivators, with substrate calculators and contamination identification resources. We include legal caveats — cultivation is illegal in many jurisdictions.
- Directory: A vetted directory of licensed service centers (Oregon, Colorado), clinical trial programs, veteran support nonprofits, and spore vendors. We verify licensing status and remove listings that fall out of compliance.
Editorial Standards
LearnShrooms is an educational platform, not a medical provider. Our content follows these principles:
- We cite peer-reviewed research wherever possible, with direct links to PubMed or the original study.
- We distinguish clearly between established research, preliminary findings, and anecdotal reports.
- We never recommend that anyone break the law. Where cultivation is illegal, we say so explicitly.
- We never provide specific dosage instructions for psychoactive use — we provide educational context about dosage ranges as reported in clinical literature.
- Our legal information is current to the best of our knowledge but should not be considered legal advice. Laws change frequently; always verify with an attorney in your state.
Safety & Crisis Support
Safety isn't a footnote on LearnShrooms — it's foundational. Every therapy and cultivation page includes harm reduction guidance. Our Crisis Resources page lists immediate support options including:
- 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988 (US)
- Veterans Crisis Line: 988 then press 1
- Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out to one of these services immediately.
Our Story
LearnShrooms started from a simple frustration: finding reliable, current information about psilocybin — especially legal information — required digging through Reddit threads, outdated blog posts, and conflicting news articles. The 2020 Oregon Measure 109 and 2022 Colorado Proposition 122 changed the landscape dramatically, but good information didn't keep pace.
We built LearnShrooms to be the resource that should exist: comprehensive, current, honest, and designed for real people who need real answers — whether that's a veteran exploring therapeutic options, a researcher looking for clinical trial data, or a cultivator in a legal jurisdiction seeking better techniques.
