PE Revert (Penis Envy Revert) Mushroom Strain
Overview
PE Revert is a term for Penis Envy cultures that have undergone partial reversion toward a more normal cubensis morphology — developing more defined caps and less extreme stem density than standard PE, while retaining higher-than-average potency. In the Penis Envy lineage, strict PE morphology (thick, capless or minimal-cap fruiting bodies) is genetically unstable and prone to reversion under cultivation pressure. PE Revert represents a stabilized intermediate: mushrooms that look more like typical cubensis than original PE but retain significantly elevated psilocybin content compared to standard cubensis strains. PE Revert has become popular in its own right because it offers a middle path — considerably more potent than beginner cubensis strains, more reliably productive than strict PE, and more recognizable in morphology to growers accustomed to standard cubensis. It is sometimes listed as 'Revert' or 'PE Revert' by spore vendors who have stabilized this intermediate phenotype as a distinct offering.
Effects & Experience
PE Revert produces experiences clearly above standard cubensis in intensity but without the extreme, sometimes-disorienting potency ceiling of APE or PEU. Users describe strong visuals, significant introspective depth, and a physical heaviness characteristic of the PE family — but at a level that is more navigable than strict PE at equivalent weights. An excellent strain for experienced cubensis users seeking meaningful potency escalation from standard varieties without committing to the most demanding end of the PE spectrum.

Above average to high — estimated 1.0–1.5% total tryptamines, reflecting the PE genetic heritage with variable expression. Significantly more potent than Golden Teacher or B+ but typically less extreme than strict PE or APE. Dose at 60–75% of your normal cubensis dose.
Cultivation Notes
PE Revert is more forgiving than strict PE in cultivation — the more normalized morphology results in better pinning, more reliable sporulation, and faster colonization than original Penis Envy. This makes it accessible to intermediate growers who have mastered standard cubensis cultivation but are not yet comfortable with the extreme demands of APE or PEU. Performs well in monotub on standard bulk substrate. Agar work is helpful but not strictly required as it is for true albino strains.
