Overview

Florida White (F+) is a widely distributed and extremely beginner-friendly Psilocybe cubensis strain that has been in the cultivation community since the early 2000s. It is prized less for potency or visual distinctiveness and more for its near-indestructible colonization speed and reliability. F+ colonizes grain, PF Tek, and bulk substrates rapidly and aggressively, with less sensitivity to technique errors than most strains. It has become a staple for beginners specifically because its fast colonization reduces the contamination window — the faster mycelium colonizes, the less time bacteria and molds have to compete.

Effects & Experience

Average cubensis potency — warm, moderate visual effects, emotionally open experiences. Consistent and predictable. A reliable baseline strain for establishing personal dose calibration.

Potency Profile

Average — 0.5–0.9% psilocybin by dry weight. Not a potency strain; consistency and reliability are its virtues.

Dosage Note: Dose equivalently to Golden Teacher or standard cubensis guidelines.

Cultivation Notes

Colonization
10–16 days
Fruiting Temp
70–76°F (21–24°C)
Humidity
88–95%

One of the fastest and most forgiving colonizers in the cubensis world. PF Tek with F+ is a classic beginner combination — fast colonization, reliable pinning, decent yields, and multiple solid flushes. The strain handles temperature swings and humidity imperfections gracefully. An excellent strain for someone who is still developing their sterile technique and wants maximum margin for error.

Recommended methods: Pf Tek, Uncle Bens Tek, Monotub Tek
