About

New York Mycological Society is a NAMA-affiliated mycology club running year-round weekend mushroom walks — exceptional frequency for any U.S. mycology club. The Society partners with NYU Mycology Group for mushroom walks, tincture-making workshops, and DNA barcoding lectures. The academic partnership (NYU) adds scientific rigor to community foraging. Open to all.

New York Mycological Society is one of the oldest and most active mycology clubs in the United States.

Why It Matters

Foraging culture in the Northeast U.S. is structured around clubs like NYMS. The NYU partnership extends that culture into university-grade mycology education.
