About
Cascade Mycological Society is a NAMA-affiliated mycology club operating in Oregon and the broader Pacific Northwest. The Society maintains an active 2024-2025 calendar with year-in-review documentation, hosts mushroom forays, organizes 'Myco Mingles' social events, and produces the Mount Pisgah Mushroom Festival.
The Pacific Northwest is ground zero for wild mushroom culture in North America, and Cascade Mycological Society is one of the central institutional hubs of that culture. While its focus is general mycology, significant overlap exists with the psilocybin community given the prevalence of psychoactive Psilocybe species in PNW ecosystems.
Why It Matters
PNW mycology is the deepest mushroom culture in the country. Cascade Mycological Society is the institutional core of that culture in Oregon.
