Psilocybin Laws in Ohio
Ohio has introduced psilocybin therapy legislation and has a growing psychedelic research community. Ohio legalized recreational cannabis via ballot initiative in 2023 and reform advocates are building on that momentum.

Active Legislation
Psilocybin remains Schedule I under Ohio law. A therapeutic access bill has been introduced in the Ohio General Assembly and is in committee. Columbus and Cleveland advocates have explored city-level decriminalization.



Key Legislation
HB 548 (2025) proposed a regulated psilocybin therapy program modeled on Oregon's framework — introduced with bipartisan support, in House Health Committee.
Clinical Trials
Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Case Western Reserve University have research programs. Check ClinicalTrials.gov for Columbus and Cleveland area enrolling psilocybin studies.
