About

The Psychedelic Medicine Association (PMA) serves as a professional organization for healthcare providers working in or preparing for psychedelic-assisted therapy. As Oregon and Colorado create licensed facilitator frameworks and FDA approval moves closer, the healthcare profession needs infrastructure for training, ethics standards, and peer support.

The PMA develops clinical guidelines, hosts continuing education for physicians and mental health professionals, and advocates for insurance coverage and professional standards in psychedelic medicine. It is distinct from APPA (American Psychedelic Practitioners Association) in its focus on licensed healthcare providers specifically, including physicians who may prescribe or supervise psychedelic treatments after FDA approval.

Membership is open to physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed therapists, nurses, and other credentialed healthcare professionals.

Why It Matters

As psilocybin moves toward FDA approval, the healthcare system needs professional infrastructure to deliver it safely and ethically. The PMA is building the standards and community that will determine how clinical psychedelic medicine operates.
