About
The MIND (Multidisciplinary Institute for Psychedelic Research) Foundation is a Berlin-based nonprofit dedicated to advancing the scientific and social integration of psychedelic medicine. Founded in 2016, MIND has become the central hub for psychedelic research advocacy in Germany and Europe.
MIND funds clinical research (most notably the psilocybin for depression studies in Germany), trains therapists in psychedelic-assisted therapy methods, and runs the INSIGHT conference — one of Europe's largest annual gatherings on psychedelic science.
The organization operates in the European regulatory context, where psilocybin research requires national medical ethics board approval rather than DEA scheduling exemptions. Germany's regulatory environment is distinct from the US, and MIND has navigated it to conduct some of the first European psilocybin clinical trials.
Why It Matters
As psychedelic medicine becomes global, European regulatory developments will shape access for hundreds of millions of people. MIND is the most important organization building the European evidence base and regulatory pathway.
