About
Decriminalize Nature National was co-founded by Larry Norris, PhD in Oakland, California in January 2019. The organization coordinates the national chapter network and is now the policy node tracking the deprioritization of entheogens in over 25 U.S. cities — including Oakland, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Berkeley, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Seattle, Port Townsend, Somerville, Cambridge, Northampton, Amherst, Salem, Minneapolis, and Washington, D.C.
The grassroots organizational model — local chapters passing municipal resolutions one city at a time — has been replicated coast to coast and is the dominant theory of change behind almost every U.S. municipal psilocybin reform of the past five years.
The National Board includes Larry Norris, Aikutzi Angelica Valadez, Shane Norte, and Moudou Baqui (Detroit).
Why It Matters
DN National is the upstream policy infrastructure of nearly every U.S. municipal psilocybin reform. The 25+ city deprioritization map is the most concentrated municipal-policy footprint any psychedelic-reform organization has assembled. Whether you support or oppose the strategy, it is the dominant theory of change in city-level entheogenic policy.
