About
The Australian Psychedelic Society is the primary community organization serving Australia's psychedelic community in the post-TGA rescheduling era. In February 2023, Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) made a globally historic decision: rescheduling psilocybin (for treatment-resistant depression) and MDMA (for PTSD) from Schedule 9 (prohibited) to Schedule 8 (controlled medicine), making Australia the first country to formally authorize psychedelic-assisted therapy through its national medicines regulator.
The Society organizes education events, integration circles, and advocacy programming responding to this rapidly changing regulatory landscape. As Australia's authorized psychiatrists began legally prescribing psilocybin-assisted therapy in 2023, the Society positioned itself as the community hub connecting the clinical world with the broader interested public — running events in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, as well as online programming reaching Australians nationwide.
