Microdose Stack Protocols Compared: Fadiman vs Stamets vs Day-On-Day-Off

I want a clear comparison of the main microdosing protocols with real experience data, not just the standard descriptions. What do people actually experience on each? Are there differences in tolerance buildup, effectiveness over time, or specific use cases where one protocol outperforms another?
Fadiman protocol (1 day on, 2 days off): the original and most studied. The off days prevent tolerance accumulation and are described by Fadiman as equally important as dose days — integration days. Most clinical self-report research uses this protocol. Best for: general well-being, mood, productivity. Duration: most people run 4-8 week blocks, then take 2-4 weeks off completely.
Stamets stack (4 days on, 3 days off with lion's mane + niacin): the rationale is that lion's mane (hericenones/erinacines) synergizes with psilocybin for neurogenesis, and niacin as a flushing agent aids distribution. The scientific basis for the specific combination is largely theoretical — the human RCT data on this exact stack doesn't exist yet. Experientially, many find it more cognitively activating than psilocybin alone. Anecdotally reported to be better for neurological applications.
Every-other-day (Day On/Off): higher effective weekly dose than Fadiman, more likely to produce tolerance with sustained use. Some people find the more frequent dosing produces a more consistent baseline effect. Not recommended for sustained periods — most practitioners suggest 4-6 weeks max before a full break. Better for acute situations (targeted short course) than long-term lifestyle integration.
