I've been microdosing Cambodian on a modified Fadiman protocol (1 day on, 2 days off) for 90 days. Here's an honest accounting of what happened. Why Cambodian: The energetic, cerebral effects profile that Cambodian is known for at full doses seemed like it would translate well to microdosing — more alertness and creative energy, less introspective heaviness. I think this hypothesis was correct. Dose: Started at 0.1g dried, moved to 0.15g at week 3. This is where it felt right for me — no perceptual alteration, some mood brightening and focus enhancement on dose days. What I noticed: — Weeks 1–3: subtle, possibly placebo, hard to distinguish — Weeks 4–8: clearer mood effects on dose days; non-dose days felt more baseline than before starting — Weeks 9–12: effects plateau; less noticeable. I took a 2-week break at week 10. Verdict: Genuinely useful for me during the middle phase. The tolerance buildup is real. Breaks are necessary. I'd do it again for specific purposes (creative project, difficult period) but not as a permanent lifestyle practice.

The plateau and break pattern matches my experience exactly. The Stamets protocol (4 days on, 3 days off) seems to extend the effective window but I've heard others say the opposite. Tolerance dynamics are individual.

Cambodian specifically for microdosing is underrated. I've had similar experiences — the energetic quality translates sub-perceptually into something that feels like mild caffeine without the jitters.

The honesty about the baseline shift on non-dose days is important. Some people experience their normal state as 'worse' during a microdosing protocol because the contrast becomes apparent. That's worth being aware of before starting.
