Both are beginner-friendly, both are popular, both are described as warm and visual. But I've grown both and I find the effects genuinely different. Anyone else? What's your subjective experience comparison?

My experience across multiple grows of each: Golden Teacher tends toward the introspective and philosophical — less body load, cleaner headspace, more likely to produce insight-type experiences. B+ has a warmer, more euphoric quality — more sensory and less in your head. At similar doses, GT feels more serious and B+ feels more recreational. This is consistent across many reports. Some people strongly prefer one over the other depending on what they're looking for.

The comparison gets complicated by variability between grows. Golden Teacher from a strong genetics line grown to full maturity will be more potent than B+ from an old syringe grown with mediocre tek. But assuming comparable quality and similar doses: yes, qualitatively different experiences. I recommend both for beginners — start with GT at 2g for your first experience (more manageable, less overwhelm), then B+ at 2-2.5g when you want something warmer and more social.

Third data point: I did both in the same month for comparison, same weight, same fasting protocol. GT: intense, philosophical, moderately visual, felt like work. B+: joyful, colorful, easier to navigate, felt more like play. Both were positive. Neither is objectively better — they're different tools for different intentions.
