I have chronic migraines averaging 12-15 days per month for six years. I've been reading about the cluster headache community's use of psilocybin and wondering if the same mechanism might apply to migraines.

I run a patient registry collecting this data. Across 340 migraine patients who've reported psilocybin use, 67% report significant reduction in headache frequency. The average reduction is 6.2 headache days per month. Not clinical trial data, but the consistency of the signal is notable.

I had debilitating migraines from age 19 to 28. Three experiences with psilocybin over six months -- doses around 1-1.5g -- completely resolved them. I've had two migraines in the four years since.

Serotonin activity is complex in migraine. Some triptans work by 5-HT1B/1D agonism. Psilocybin is 5-HT2A agonist with some 5-HT2B activity. The mechanisms may overlap. This is speculative but not implausible. More research urgently needed.
