I've switched to tea after years of eating dried mushrooms and the difference in nausea is significant. But I've seen a lot of conflicting advice about preparation -- temperature, steeping time. What actually works?

The chemistry: psilocybin is water-soluble and relatively heat-stable up to around 65C. You don't need boiling water -- hot but not boiling extracts psilocybin effectively while reducing thermal degradation.

Add fresh ginger. Not ginger powder -- fresh sliced ginger. It genuinely reduces nausea and adds a pleasant flavor. Steep the mushrooms and ginger together for 15-20 minutes, strain, and drink.

The first steep gets the majority of psilocybin. A second steep with fresh hot water on the same material will get additional but diminishing returns. I do a double steep and combine them.
