Portland area: first wavy caps (P. cyanescens) sightings in wood chip beds, mid-October. Important reminder: always make a spore print. Galerina marginata is in the same habitat. Purple-brown = Psilocybe. Rusty = Galerina. Non-negotiable.

UK liberty cap report: south Wales, coastal pasture, good flush coming in. All the usual advice: look for the pointed papilla, check for the slender stem, confirm in the hand.

Pacific Northwest: wet October so far, good for cyanescens and azurescens beds. Reminder that P. azurescens is significantly more potent than P. cyanescens — multiple hospitalizations annually from azurescens dosed as cyanescens equivalent.
