Humidity control without a greenhouse: practical approaches for home growers

I'm growing in a spare bedroom and getting inconsistent pinning that I think is humidity-related. I don't want to build a full tent setup. What are the simplest ways to maintain the 90%+ humidity I need for fruiting without expensive equipment?
Shotgun fruiting chamber (SGFC) is the answer for low-tech high-humidity: rubbermaid container with holes drilled on all six sides, 4 inches of wet perlite on the bottom. Fanning 2-3x daily and misting the walls (not the cakes) keeps humidity consistently high. Zero electricity, works indefinitely.
For the paranoid about misting: you're not trying to wet the cake, you're trying to create humidity. Mist the walls, not the substrate. Let the droplets evaporate. If your cakes are visibly wet, you've over-misted.
Ultrasonic humidifiers in a tent work for larger setups. The challenge is vapor distribution — add a small fan to move the air without drying it out. Automation with a digital hygrostat removes the guesswork if you're growing regularly.
